作者简介威廉•萨默塞特•毛姆 W. Somerset Maugham（1874—1965），英国著名小说家、剧作家、短篇小说作家。一度从医，后转而致力于写作。作品继承了英国现实主义的传统，常以冷静、讽刺乃至怜悯的态度审视人生，幽默犀利，基调超然。长篇小说代表作有《人性的枷锁》《月亮和六便士》《刀锋》等。
