The explosive spread of democracy has radically transformed the international political landscape and captured the attention of academics, policy makers, and activists alike. Nathan J. Brown is a professor of political science and international affairs and director of the Institute for Middle East Studies at George Washington University. He is author of Palestinian Politics after the Oslo Accords: Resuming Arab Palestine.
