作者简介安东尼奥·洛博·安图内斯（António Lobo Antunes），1942生于里斯本。7岁立志当作家，大学时研习心理学，毕业后以军医身份踏上了非洲安哥拉的战场，并开始关注死亡等人类主题。1979年凭借首部长篇小说《象的记忆》（Memória de Elefante）登上文坛，至今已出版作品二十余部，他的作品风格被认为深受威廉·福克纳和路易-费迪南·塞利纳影响。2000年获奥地利国家欧洲文学奖，成为史上第一个获得该奖的葡萄牙作家；2005年成为第一个获得耶路撒冷文学奖的葡萄牙作家；2007年获葡语文学最高奖项卡蒙斯文学奖。他是继若泽·萨拉马戈之后，在国际文坛声誉最高的葡萄牙作家，近年来一直是诺贝尔文学奖的热门人选之一。
