Fred I. Greenstein has long been one of our keenest observers of the modern presidency. Roosevelt's first hundred days. He surveys each president's political skill, vision, cognitive style, organizational capacity, ability to communicate, and emotional intelligence - and argues that the last is the most important in predicting presidential success. 弗雷德•格林斯坦，现为普林斯顿大学政治学荣休教授、美国人文与科学院院士，曾任国际政治心理学会主席。他是当代美国总统研究最杰出的学者之一，2004年获得美国政治学会的年度“总统研究终身成就奖”。
