作者简介苏珊娜·克拉克 生于1959年．是英国诺丁汉郡一位教士的女儿．童年时代在英格兰北部和苏格兰的许多小镇都生活过。毕业于牛津大学圣希尔达学院，先后从事过教师和图书编辑工作，现居英国剑桥。2005年，《大魔法师》荣获素有“书界奥斯卡”之称的英国图书奖的两个专项奖。苏珊娜·克拉克亦借此书捧得“最佳新人”奖。
