作者简介杰克·韦尔奇（Jack Welch），1935年11月19日出生于美国马萨诸塞州萨勒姆市。1957年获得马萨诸塞大学化学工程学士学位。1960年获得伊利诺伊大学化学工程博士学位，同年加入通用电气公司。1971年成为GE化学与治金事业部总经理。1979年8月，成为通用电气副董事长。1981年4月，成为通用电气公司历史上最年轻的董事长兼首席执行官。他现居住在康涅狄格州的费尔菲尔德。
