一月十八日，二时四十五分，吉尔?德勒兹 (Gilles Louis Réné Deleuze) 出生于巴黎十七区。父亲为工程师。母亲 (Odette Camaüer) 为家庭主妇。父系来自法国南部的普罗旺斯省。德勒兹在家中排行第二。其兄长原准备入学法国圣席尔 (Saint-Cyr) 军校，后因从事抗德运动被捕，在遗送奥许维兹 (Auschwitz) 集中营的死亡列车中去世。
