作者简介艾力克‧康弗（Alex Comfort）
（1920～2000）出生於英國倫敦，是性學研究的先驅者之一，也是位多才多藝的作家，出版了五十多本著作以及多項科學論文，但最為人熟知的還是《性愛聖經》。
康弗一生涉獵極廣，除了身為醫師、生物學家，也是積極的社會評論家，積極的和平運動者，曾協助推動卸除核能活動，信奉無政府主義，還曾因此入獄，與哲學家羅素（Bertrand Russell）被關在同一間囚室。
康弗在醫學界的成就十分卓越，他是抗老化研究的先鋒，曾領導倫敦大學的老化現象研究、擔任史丹佛大學神經醫學部講師與洛杉磯大學神經精神醫學中心客座教授，也是美國精神醫學協會會員。康弗於2000年三月去世，享年八十。
