作者简介厄休拉·培根
1939年,厄休拉·培根和父母逃离纳粹德国,与18000名中欧难民一起抵达中国上海。这家人在日本控制的贫民区度过了战争年代的大部分时间。她在上海的时候,与一位年轻的难民结了婚,并于1947年来到美国,在丹佛定居,养育了两个孩子,实现了她的美国梦。现如今,厄休拉举办演讲、并经营着写作与出版的工作室,经常在妇女会议和其他教育活动中发表演讲。
