1944年2月8日：生于巴西。

1968―1969年（24―25岁）：在巴西圣保罗大学和美国Vanderbilt大学获经济硕士学位。供职于巴西政府的经济部门。

1969―1971年（25―27岁）：在英国伦敦，为国际咖啡组织工作。

1973年（29岁）；开始从事摄影报道工作，报道作洲撒哈拉地区的大旱。

1974年（30岁）：为巴黎的西格玛（Sygma）图片社进行摄影采访，到过葡萄牙和非洲。

1975―1979年（31―35岁）：参加法国伽玛（Gamma）图片社，到过欧洲、非洲和拉丁美洲十几个国家进行摄影采访。

1977―1983年（33―39岁）：数次到拉丁美洲拍摄农民生活纪实照片，为编辑出版画册《别的美洲人》积累素材。

1979年（35岁）：参加玛格纳（Maguum）图片社（至今仍为该社成员）。在世界各地进行摄影采访。1979年起...
