作者简介诺曼·马内阿（Norman Manea），1936年生于罗马尼亚的布科维纳，像当时该地的所有犹太人那样，五岁时就随家被遣送到特兰西瓦尼亚。完成工程师学业后，他决定投身于文学创作。1986年，他选择离开罗马尼亚，前往西柏林，后定居于美国纽约，直至今日。他是当今世界上被翻译得最多的罗马尼亚作家，其作品获得过不少文学奖，如：意大利诺尼诺（Nonino）文学奖、西班牙《前卫报》最佳外文著作奖、美国全国犹太图书奖、美国麦克阿瑟天才奖等。其中回忆录《流氓的归来》赢得2006年法国美第奇外国作品奖、2011年德国奈莉·萨克斯文学奖。
