作者：布赖恩•费根，世界著名考古学家、人类学家，美国加州大学圣芭芭拉分校终身教授。曾出版《圣婴与文明兴衰：洪水、饥馑与帝王》《小冰河期》《法老王朝》《漫长的夏天》《古代文明七十谜团》《古代文明七十发明》等著作。他是最早开展气候环境与人类历史关系研究的西方学者之一。

主译、审订者：方辉，山东大学历史文化学院考古学教授、博导，现任山东大学历史文化学院院长、文化遗产研究院院长等职，兼任美国夏威夷大学《亚太考古》（英文）杂志编委，中国殷商学会理事，中国社科院古代文明研究中心客座研究员。专业特长为中国青铜时代考古、考古学理论与方法和考古学史的研究。承担主要科研项目6项，出版专著《考古学理论、方法和技术》《海岱地区青铜时代考古》等6部，在省级以上专业刊物发表论文15篇。
