作者简介克里斯托弗·罗（Christopher Rowe），英国杜拉姆大学古典学与古代史学系希腊语教授，专长为古希腊哲学史和古典文献学，以研究亚里士多德和柏拉图知名。其主要著作包括《优德米亚伦理学和尼可马可伦理学：亚里士多德思想发展研究》、《柏拉图：泰阿泰德与智者篇》、《柏拉图与哲学写作的艺术》，曾注疏赫西奥德的作品和柏拉图的《斐多篇》、《政治家篇》、《斐德罗篇》等；除本书外，他还主编了《柏拉图政治家篇读本》。
马尔科姆·斯科菲尔德（Malcolm Schofield）,剑桥大学圣约翰学院研究员，古代哲学教授，主要研究领域为古代政治思想和西塞罗哲学，其重要著作包括《柏拉图的政治哲学》、《拯救城市》、《斯多葛派的城市观》、《论阿那克萨哥拉》等。除本书外，还主编了《剑桥希腊化哲学史》、《前苏格拉底哲学》。
