加文·普雷特–平尼（Gavin Pretor-Pinney），毕业于牛津大学和中央圣马丁艺术与设计学院，英国作家，曾与友人共同创办《懒人杂志》。2004年创立赏云协会，经该协会多年努力，糙面云得到了正式命名，并被世界气象组织录入《世界云图》。他因《观浪者指南 》（2010 ）而荣获皇家学会温顿科学图书奖，另外著有《宇宙的答案云知道》（2006）、《尤克里里手册》（2013）等作品。
