罗伯特•考尔克（Robert Kolker），马里兰大学英文系荣休教授，兼任弗吉尼亚州大学的媒介研究客座教授。本书之外，他也撰写了多部电影论著，A Cinema of Loneliness: Penn，Stone，Kubrick，Scorsese，Spielberg，Altman 已经出到了第三版，近期他还编纂了Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho: A Casebook。他的欧洲电影专著The Altering Eye现已在互联网上发布，网址为：http://otal.umd.edu/~rkolker/AlteringEye。
