苏格兰作家、服装设计师。

1976年生于英国格拉斯哥市一个一贫如洗的工人家庭，十六岁时，母亲因饮酒过量而遽然离世。而后，他独自一人搬入寄宿公寓，完成高中学业并进入大学主修纺织设计。他曾作为服装设计师服务于多家品牌，目前专职写作。

《舒吉·贝恩》是斯图尔特的处女作，寄托了他对母亲无尽的回忆与爱。这本书他写了十年，曾被拒稿三十二次，出版后即斩获布克奖。
